Vacant position as Secretary General in the Scandinavian Division of International Association for Dental Research (IADR)

The Scandinavian Division of the IADR (Nordisk Odontologisk Förening, NOF) is looking for a Secretary General to begin January the 1st 2018. The position is intended to be for a 5-year period with the possibility of extension.

NOF is a non-profit association led by a Board, consisting of one member from each of the 8 Scandinavian and Baltic countries. The aim of the NOF is to promote dental research and education and to maintain contacts with IADR and other divisions of IADR. Members of the board are elected for 5 years. The Secretary General and the Treasurer, as well as the Editor of the journal are also board members, but they have no vote.

The Secretary General has the main responsibility for organising NOF board meetings and the annual NOF General Assembly, for taking minutes at NOF Board and General Meetings, for preparing NOF web newsletter, attending and reporting from council meetings and other meetings where NOF is represented, together with the President of NOF; assisting in the organisation of NOF events such co-hosting of the Continental European Division and Pan-European Division of IADR meetings, providing information and other services to the NOF members, handling member requests, and corresponding with the central IADR secretariat.

The holder of the post will be expected to have good communication skills, quickly to assume a high degree of responsibility, to demonstrate an ability to work alone and in a small team, to have good organisation and drafting skills, knowledge of oral, dental or craniofacial research as well as of the Scandinavian Division and the IADR. Work will require international travel. Active memberships of the NOF and the IADR are required.

The work as Secretary General includes an annual salary, and the expected use of time is on average 1-2 hours weekly. Travel expenses are also covered.
