Karring – Nyman SUNSTAR Guidor Award to University of Bergen, Norway

This year the Karring – Nyman SUNSTAR Guidor Award was conferred for a second time. The Karring – Nyman SUNSTAR Guidor Award, administered by Professor Andreas Stavropoulos, consists of 10,000 Euros and aims at supporting research within the field of oral tissue regeneration. The award is conferred on an annual basis and in a competitive way, based on an application for a research project within the field of oral tissue regeneration. This year’s winner is Dr. Siddharth Shanbhag from the Department of Clinical Dentistry, Centre for Clinical Dental Research, University of Bergen, Norway, for the project: “Three‐dimensional cultures of periodontal progenitor cells for tissue engineering applications”. Siddharth is a PhD candidate and student member of the NOF and IADR.
